Itinerary:

Day 1: Arrival & Antigua Birding

  • Arrival in Antigua Guatemala and hotel check-in
  • Afternoon photography session at Finca El Pilar, focusing on hummingbirds and warblers
  • Welcome dinner and trip briefing

Day 2: Tecpán & Ranchitos del Quetzal

  • Early transfer to Tecpán for highland bird photography, targeting the Pink-headed Warbler
  • Breakfast at a local lodge
  • Continue to Ranchitos del Quetzal to capture the Resplendent Quetzal in cloud forest habitat
  • Overnight stay in a mountain lodge

Day 3: Horned Guan Expedition – Atitlán Highlands

  • Pre-dawn hike for a chance to photograph the elusive Horned Guan
  • Picnic breakfast on the trail
  • Afternoon session around Lake Atitlán for Azure-rumped Tanager and motmots
