Itinerary:

Day 1: Arrival & Antigua Birding

  • Arrival in Antigua Guatemala and hotel check-in
  • Afternoon birding at Finca El Pilar, searching for Highland Guan, Blue-throated Motmot, and bush-tanagers
  • Welcome dinner and trip briefing

Day 2: Tecpán & Ranchitos del Quetzal

  • Early transfer to Tecpán for highland specialties, including the Pink-headed Warbler
  • Breakfast at a local lodge
  • Continue to Ranchitos del Quetzal to observe the Resplendent Quetzal and Black-capped Swallow
  • Overnight stay in a mountain lodge
